Opening a VRR RSL in Hungary 16.12.2015
Within the framework of the “Russian Centre” project,  08th and 09th December 2015 the Russian State Library and the “Russkiy Mir”  foundation held the ceremonies  of opening virtual reading rooms of the Russian State Library (VRR RSL) in the cities of Budapest and Pecs (Hungary).  
 
08th December 2015, the opening ceremony took place at the Russian Centre of the Eotvos Lorand University ( Budapest), which is a largest university of Hungary founded in the 17th century. 
Professor Csaba BORSODI, Candidate of Sciences,  Vice-Dean for General Affairs, former Vice-Rector for Education of the Eotvos Lorand University, greeted the audience and wished everyone good luck.
 
Among other guests of honour there could be mentioned professor Tamas Krausz, Doctor of Sciences, head of the Centre for Russian Studies, as well as Zsuzsanna Gyimesi, PhD, head of the Russian Centre in Budapest, and the representative of the “Russkiy Mir” foundation Sergey Ulitin. The Russian State Library was represented by head of the Administrative department of management and monitoring service for clients Nina Avdeeva and head of the Department of prospective development Tatyana Blinova. Nina Avdeeva spoke to the audience about cooperation of the RSL and foundation “Russkiy Mir”. She also offered her presentation “Digital Resources of the Russian State Library” which arouse a pure interest among of the guests.
 
 Gabor Diyeni, a graduate of the Ural Federal University, who was present at the ceremony, decided to test the capabilities of the VRR RSL himself. He made a request for search through the collection and as a result got his own candidate’s dissertation thesis.
 
09th December 2015 the ceremony of opening a VRR RSL was held at the Russian Centre of the University of Pecs, which had been founded on the basis of the first public library of Hungary started in 1367. The event was conducted by the head of the Russian Centre Doctor Végvári Valentyina, Candidate of Pedagogy, and Methodist of the Russian Centre Carolina Siuch - Russnak.
 
The ceremony was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of the Humanities professor Doctor Ferenc Fischer. Then Sergey Ulitin, head manager of the Administrative Department of Russian Centres, greeted the audience from his establishment.

Nina Avdeeva prepared a presentation concerning digital resources of the Russian State Library. The speech was skillfully interpreted into Hungarian by the director of the Institute of Slavic Studies Doctor Robert Wolosz.
Except for the mentioned above participants, the event was attended by the deputy IT director of the Central Library of Pecs Markó Tamás, as well as by the students and teachers of the university.
The RSL delegation, together with the representative of the “Russkiy Mir” foundation and the head of the Russian Centre of the University of Pecs Dr. Végvári Valentyina, visited the new building of the Central Library of Pecs which had been opened for readers in 2010.
In the library there took place a meeting with deputy general – director Szellõné Fábián Mária, deputy IT director Markó Tamás, head of the Department of Client Service Fekete Ágnes. In the end Fekete Ágnes conducted an excursion around the library and demonstrated comfortable and spacious reading rooms and auxiliary rooms of the library. The guide drew a particular attention of the audience to the child reading room, and also to the reader’s self – service zone for scanning and producing paper copies of works.
 
The representatives of the Russian delegation thanked the hosts for their warm reception and handed them symbolic VRR RSLplaques. All the participants of the both opening ceremonies expressed their hope that access of the readers of the Russian Centres to the Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library would broaden and strengthen cooperation of the scientists of the both nations, and would contribute considerably to the studies of the Russian language and science. Leaders of the Russian Centres donated to the Russian State Library editions from the collections of the libraries of the two universities.
