Has your dissertation been really checked at the RSL? 30.01.2014

Numerous pieces of news have there appeared connected with the RSL service of testing texts for plagiarism with the “Antiplagiat.RSL” software. Still not all of them base on real facts. We offer you to have a look at the sample certificate with expert opinion on the originality of the text. The certificate issued by the RSL contains the logo of the library, the signatures of the RSL expert and of the director general of the RSL. There is also the seal of our establishment. If all these are present, then you are not deceived: the test has really been carried out by the RSL.

The Russian State Library does not present originality certificates on demands of individuals if they are not authors of the work in question. The deputies of the State Duma are not exceptions, their direct claims to the RSL would not be satisfied. In compliance with clause 14 of Chapter 1 of the Federal Law on the status of members of the Council of Federation and deputies of the State Duma of the RF Federal Assembly, members of the Council of Federation and deputies of the State Duma have right to direct their requests to the Prime Minister, members of the RF Government,  the Prosecutor General, to the President of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the RF, to chairmen of other election commissions, chairmen of commissions on referendums, to heads of other Federal authorities, to local authorities and also to the presidium of the RF Pension Foundation, of the RF Foundation of Social Insurance, of Federal Foundation of Compulsory Medical Insurance of the Russian Federation with the questions which stay within competence of the named structures and officials.

The Russian State Library realizes plagiarism tests of dissertations if demanded by authors themselves, or by Higher Attestation Committee under the RF Ministry of Education, or by court of justice or police.
