Participants of the seminar

16^th November 2011 the Russian State Library (RSL) hosted the fourth seminar for representatives of rural libraries – winners of the programme competition “Model Rural Libraries”, which is one of the most prominent programmes of development of library business in Russia. The event took place due to support of Foundation “Pushkinskaya Library”. Seminar “Model rural libraries: providing access to the resources of the Russian State Library” was organized by the staff – members of the department of support of access to digital resources of the Russian State Library.

�. Blinova’s speaking

Head specialist of the project “Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library” (DDL RSL) T. Blinova spoke on the history of creation of the collections of the Digital Library of the RSL, she also pointed out stages of development and prospects of the project “Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library”. Then, in her presentation “Antiplagiat. Service of the Russian State Library – testing texts for plagiarism against DDL RSL”, she spoke on aims and development of the project, on its significance in present information world; on rules how to apply for and obtain the service, and she also demonstrated the form of the resolution which is handed as a result of the test completed.

M. Runova’ s speaking

Specialist of the project DDL RSL M. Runova made presentation “Algorithms of search and viewing full texts of the Digital Library of the RSL”. She gave details on performance capabilities of the system for safe document viewing “DefView”. In the end she hold a tutorial on work with the search system of the digital catalogue of the Digital Library of the RSL and – apart from that – of the catalogue of dissertations and author’s abstracts on website www.diss.rsl.ru where she demonstrated the capabilities of ”DefView” in real time.

M. Sergeyuk’ s speaking

Chief specialist of the project “Open Digital Dissertation Library of the RSL” (ODDL) M. Sergeyuk resented her report on the development of the ODDL and gave details on how to transfer a work to the collection of the Open Digital Dissertation Library of the RSL.
