26^th March 2012, the Russian State Library hosted the annual Research and practical conference of the Russian Association of Digital Libraries (NPP "ELBI").
 

General sponsor of the conference was the Russian State Library.

Sponsor of the conference was CC "ARMADA SOFT".

Information sponsor of the conference was publishing house "University Book".
 

The conference gathered about 200 people – experts in the field of digital libraries and collections, Copyright, modern information technologies, software for libraries; as well as publishers, aggregators of literature, representatives of libraries of higher education institutions etc.
 

The conference was presided by the representatives of the Russian State Library: Alexander Visly, the director general, Igor Gruzdev, deputy director general on IT, and Nina Avdeeva, head of the Administrative department of managing and monitoring service for clients.

 

The opening ceremony of the conference was visited by the following officials of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation: Oleg Neretin, the director of the Department of science, education and information technologies, and Tatyana Manilova, head of the department of libraries and archives. The president of the Russian State Library Victor Fedorov also came to participate.

 

Within the framework of the event there were discussed the following issues:
- creation and support of digital libraries and collections;
- problems of acquisition in digital libraries;
- preservation of the collections of digital libraries;
- digital libraries and Copyright.
