July 12, 2021, the Russian State Library starts the planned works for updating the control system of the RSL Virtual Reading Rooms (VRRs RSL). To make the process smoother, works will be carried out strictly according to the schedule, with obligatory notification of each of the VRRs RSL.

The upgrade introduced has been worked out especially for users’ convenience. It is based on the latest technological solutions, and it is destined to facilitate VRR RSL staff work. Thus, the new version provides transition to the full text of the document directly from the RSL digital catalogue. The system performance is also expected to be improved.
The correct operation of the upgrade offered is guaranteed at VRRs RSL in case the following requirements for workstations are satisfied:

1. Hardware requirements:

• processor of 1 GHz and higher;
• RAM from 4 GB;
• Internet from 1 Mbit.

2. OS requirements:

• Windows – versions of 8.1 and higher;
• MacOS – versions of 10.13 and higher;
• Linux – current versions of Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, openSUSE and Astra.

3. Web-browser requirements:

• Google Chrome – versions of  89.0.4389.114 and higher;
• Opera – versions of 75.0.3969.93 and higher;
• Yandex.Browser – versions of 21.2.4.165 and higher.
