17^th May 2023, the officials of the Client services department of the Russian State Library took part in conference “Resources and services of research libraries in demand” organized by the R-and-D department of library science of the Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The event was hold in the academic board room of the new building of INION at Nakhimovsky Prospekt. For those who wished, the director of INION Dr Aleksey V. Kuznetsov carried out the excursion around the building. As for the speeches and discussions, representatives of largest public, research and higher education libraries of Russia and CIS states provided their insight into the problems of development and support of comprehensive resources and advanced services for research libraries which would stay in demand. They also exchanged their experience of efficient organization of library workflows, of attracting diverse kinds of readers, and of organizing centres of research communication on the basis of latest information technologies. Further on, the attendees of the conference were offered to take part in the foresight session where the two groups of professionals were asked to prepare and present their prognosis of library branch development, that including possible degree of monetization for library services.
