The Russian State Library continues its activities in preserving cultural heritage and propagating the Russian language and culture abroad. Digital products and client services of the largest library of the nation remain in great demand, which fact is supported by the on-going increase of the number of its virtual reading rooms which enable users access authoritative sources of scientific knowledge and digitised copies of objects of cultural heritage. Thus, in December 2023, the intense collaboration of the Russian State Library and Rossotrudnichestvo (“Russian Cooperation” organization) fruited in opening a new virtual reading room of the Russian State Library on the premises of the library of the Rossotrudnichestvo headquarters in the Syrian Arab Republic ("Russian House" in Syria). This reading room is the first in the history of the VRR RSL project in Syria and the second one launched at the Middle East (the first one being in Iran). Its opening became an important step in the development of the humanitarian mission in the two countries as well as a pure success in popularizing the Russian language and Russian education in the abroad states.
Here you can look through the message on the Telegram channel of the Russian House in Syria announcing the VRR RSL opening and offering its potential readers to try the services which can be obtained from now on.
