6 – 7 June, 2024, the officials of the Russian State Library took part in the International conference "Libraries in the Digital Era — Innovations, Services and Resources", which was organised in a hybrid format at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The event was held by the Association of Digital Libraries of Kyrgyzstan, and it was devoted to its 15^th anniversary.

The authorities together with the officials of the establishments of higher education alongside with librarians and publishers, IT specialists and experts of the institutions of science and culture of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan discussed the matters of automation of library workflows and development of innovative services for enhancing quality of work with diverse user categories. They also spoke about role of libraries in information and methodology support of research, problems of access to open and licensed educational resources. Then, there were demonstrated the results of work of library associations of the IFLA member organisations in the countries of Asia and Oceania. There were introduced innovative trends of work of the Association of Digital Libraries of Kyrgyzstan, the Cambridge University Press resources for Kyrgyz universities. In continuation of the e-resource theme, Vadim Andrenyuk (RSL) presented his speech "Electronic Resources of the Russian State Library for Science and Education". He described the capabilities of the RSL Digital Library and RSL virtual reading rooms and spoke on the newly developed options and services, i.e. digitising interesting and frequently-demanded documents from the RSL physical collections, composing thematic selections for the current VRRs RSL and requesting for an e-copy of a part of the document from the RSL Digital Library.

The Association of Digital Libraries of Kyrgyzstan was founded in 2008 within the framework of TEMPUS project "Exchanging Library and Information Resources with University Libraries. KYRLIBNET" under the financial support of the Directorate General for Education and Culture of the European Union. Its target is coordination of work of libraries of educational establishments, as well as of other library and information organisations of Kyrgyzstan realized for the benefits of development of library branch of the nation. That includes the sphere of integration of library and information resources and promotion of innovative technologies for education, science and culture. At present, the association comprises 20 libraries of the establishments of higher education, 2 public and 2 college libraries, and the IPR-Media company (Russian Federation).
