In the beginning of July, 2024, in Moscow there took place the events of the Fifth jubilee forum festival “Russian Creative Week”. Over five million people visited them in person and approximately six million online users were following the streams. Economics and sports, music and gastronomy, design and art, cinema and theatre, fashion and media, as well as lots of other directions gathered its audiences and ardent speakers. The essential part of the meetings meanwhile was devoted to literature and book publishing.

One of most important discussions, the “Future of Book and Reading” discussion panel, was held July 3. The officials of the VCIOM foundation together with publishers, journalists and writers tried to identify the state of affairs of the book branch in Russia by comparing the statistics and prognoses with de facto volumes of content consuming, both physical and digital, by real readers. Paper or digital technologies? And what are the prospects of the national book industry development? What is being read nowadays and how are they doing that? Who is that modern reader? – all those and many other questions will be answered by the professionals of authority in their live talk.
