September 16 – 19, the officials of the Russian State Library presented their speeches at the 17^th Forum of Creative and Research Intelligentsia of the CIS, organized in Ufa by the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO) and Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The theme of the events of the forum of the year of 2024 was “Commonwealth of Independent States – Common Values within Diversity of Cultures”. 

Over 300 delegates of the establishments of science, education and culture from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan discussed urgent matters of professional cooperation and peculiarities of development of international communication in new sociocultural and economic condition.

September 18, at discussion platform “Science and education in the epoch of digital transformation in CIS”, which was held at the Inter-Establishment Student Campus of the Euro-Asian Research and Educational Centre, the participants shared their experience of implementation of modern digital technologies into the workflows of higher education institutions, libraries, museums and archives, as well as of other establishments of culture. Then, Mr Vadim Andreniuk, chief librarian of the Department of Library Information Systems of the Russian State Library presented his speech “Digital Capabilities of the Russian State Library for Science and Education”. With the examples of the projects initiated and advanced by the RSL there were demonstrated prospects for the development of science, education and culture. Moreover, there was shown how organizations cooperating with the Russian State Library could benefit from the partnership, and the bonuses individuals could gain for their personal and professional development as staff of establishments of education and science, culture and business, and of the IT sphere too.

The annual Forum of Creative and Research Intelligentsia of the CIS counts its history from the year of 2006. And all the previous sessions were held in one of the CIS capitals.
