02.09.2009 at the roundtable discussion on the subject of “Main Problems of Digital Books Edition in Russia and all over the World” there spoke: IT Director of the RSL Alexander Visly (“Digital Future for Libraries”), the Head of the Department of Support of Access to Digital Resources and the Head Manager of the project of "Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library (DDL RSL)” Nina Avdeeva (“Digital Libraries of the RSL”); IT Director and Director of the Russian Association of Digital Libraries Igor Gruzdev (“The Russian Association of Digital Libraries Nowadays”).

 

04.09.2009 at conference “Digital Libraries vs Editors: Compromising in Copyright Limitations”, IT Director of the RSL also gave a speech.

 

Besides, within the framework of conference and exhibition “Knigabyte”, there was organized a sample Virtual Reading Room of the Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library. The Virtual Reading Room composed of six workstations gave an opportunity to the participants and visitors of the conference to get access to the full texts of Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library (DDL RSL), and to get acquainted with the rules and conditions of its work. The staff members of the RSL assisted the volunteers in search and work with the full text documents.

 

The representatives of the Higher Education Institutions and public libraries who proved interested in organizing Virtual Reading Rooms of the RSL at the territory of their organizations got detailed information concerning all the necessary documents.

 

During the exhibition we got a number of priceless wishes, remarks and specifications which will be very helpful in making DDL RSL work even more efficiently.
