Conference "Digital Century of Culture" 03.12.2012
 
The eleventh International Research and Practical Conference "Digital Century of Culture" took place 21 – 23 November at the Russian State Library.

The organizers of the 2012 conference were: the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian State Library, the Russian Association of Digital Libraries and foundation “Digital Century of Culture”. The conference was sponsored by the Canon company, web studio Spasebox, group of companies Information systems, the European Digital Laboratory company and information and analytical journal University BOOK.
 
The directions of priority of the conference work were the traditional ones: discussing ways of informatization for institutions of culture (libraries, museums, theatres, educational institutions, etc.) and looking for practical solutions for the problems connected with informatization of such institutions; getting acquainted with the latest achievements in the IT sphere (creating digital resources in general and digital libraries in particular, search and storing information).
 
Topics of presentations and discussions at the event were:
– digital resources of culture in global information space;
– copyright;
– digital libraries;
– complex automation of libraries;
– the national catalogue of the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation.
 
More than 100 specialists took part in the conference. During the conference 33 reports were presented.
 
All the events of the eleventh International Research and Practical Conference "Digital Century of Culture" were broadcast online on the main webpage of the Russian Association of Digital Libraries www.aselibrary.ru.
