Who’s the best friend of the RSL 25.12.2013

Dear friendsThe team of the Administrative department of management and monitoring service for clients of the RSL congratulates you heartily on the coming New Year and Christmas! We appreciate highly your confidence and hope our cooperation will remain fruitful in 2014, too. We wish you good health, happiness and prosperity!

Summing up the work carried out in 2013, we are glad to point out that there was held a competition among the RSL readers who had signed the contract on the conditions of offer to access the DDL RSL resource. Thus the “Best friend of the RSL” title was awarded to Tatyana Rebrova. In addition the winner got a one – year access to DDL RSL free of charge, of course.

In 1963 Tatyana Timonovna (born 1940) graduated from the Treatment department of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M.Sechenov:
“In spite of the fact that in our university there was a library, it lacked books on Medicine of 18 and 19 centuries and contained no books on Psychology at all. To read all those books I used to visit the RSL. Having graduated from the university, I worked at the Medical institute named after Sechenov for quite a long time. My first position was that of a junior research fellow, then I became an assistant at the Department of biochemistry, and then I was at the Information department. In 1971 I was awarded the degree of Candidate of Biology. My dissertation had been written at the RSL. I was struck by a high professionalism of the staff of the library and by the attention they would pay to any of its readers. In spring 2012 the RSL organized access for individuals to the Digital Dissertation Library of the Russian State Library collection. Having entered the contract on the conditions of offer, readers could get distant access to author’s abstracts and dissertations, both candidate’s and doctor’s, defended in different branches of science. Thus the achievements of the national scientists made their step towards broad circles of public. I am happy to congratulate the staff of the RSL on the coming New Year and to wish everybody good health and success in their work”.
