Remote enrolment at the Russian State Library 14.01.2014

The Russian State Library launches a new service for its clients – a remote enrolment at the Russian State Library.

Now there exist several ways of enrolment at the Russian State Library:
  • Internal enrolment (realized at the Group of enrolment of RSL readers; available to any citizen aged over 18, or to any student of the higher education institution irrespective of age);
  • Online enrolment (realized on website www.rsl.ru  over here: https://passport.rsl.ru/register; available exclusively for the citizens of the RF aged over 18, or students of higher education institutions irrespective of age);
  • Enrolment with posting documents (available for the citizens of the RF aged over 18, or students of higher education institutions irrespective of age).
While realizing the online registration there is created an electronic library card with the unique number (valid for five years). It provides its owner with the capability to use all the scope of services of the RSL Internet Store, and also to request for and get books from the collections of the RSL, to get access to digital resources of the library, to licensed databases and electronic versions of editions of the library.
With the number of the electronic library card its owner will always manage to get a library card at the Group of enrolment of RSL readers as a plastic card with their photo which will let them into reading rooms of the RSL.

Details on the service can be viewed on the official website of the RSL in "Rules of enrolment" and on  page of reader registration.
